Learn from the past, understand the present,
and plan for a better future.
Our urban systems are interwoven with digital infrastructures. Data has become an essential component for modern services, from managing urban mobility to guiding political decision making. This new layer in our cities is mostly invisible. Through the CityVis platform we are trying to collect urban data visualisations and to build a community around it, connecting people across the globe.
Exhibition
In 2022 we ran the third installment of the CityVis Competition. Projects from all over the world were submitted and over the summer an international jury has been exploring these great examples of visualisation work. The exhibition shows the best submissions in the categories: Research, Journalism, Art & Advocacy, Contract and Students.
Hybrid Symposium & Vernissage
For the opening of the exhibition, we are holding a hybrid symposium. Three international speakers will be discussing the challenges and opportunities of smart cities and urban data. We will close the symposium with the announcement of the winners of this year's competition and the opening of the exhibition.
The symposium and announcements will be held hybrid. You can already register for the live stream. We will send out an invitation for the in-person event in late october to all participants, when we know about the COVID regulations at the time.
